Alex Mesquita
From the Backlands to the Federal University of Bahia
I'm a guitar player, born in Colina do Macaco, in the Bahian Recôncavo, where I learned the Afro-Bahian guitar style of the region. I later attended the Guitar Institute of Technology, in Los Angeles, California, studying a wide range of styles in addition to recording technology.
I am currently a professor of music at the Universidade Federal da Bahia (Federal University of Bahia), and I record and play professionally with many notable Brazilian musicians.
