Jay Mazza has been documenting the music scene in New Orleans for over thirty years. He's written for Downbeat, the New Orleans Times-Picayune, Offbeat, and plenty of others. From 1992 to 2005 he covered culture for the Louisiana Weekly, writing the "Jazz City" column. His forthcoming book is entitled "Up Front and Center: New Orleans Music at the End of the Twentieth Century".
