Is there a doctor in the house? Thank god there was one down in New Orleans. Dr. Ike Padnos, intent on not letting the ageing but still-living harbingers of rock 'n' roll remain mired in obscurity while they've got so much life and vitality yet coursing through fingers, legs, and lips. Dr. Ike went all out in life-support, resuscitating the moribund careers of dozens of R&B and blues primal precursors. As his protege (for want of a better description) Classie Ballou says, "I haven't faded away yet!"

Dr. Ike founded (in keeping with a New Orleans tradition of hyperbolic names) The Mystic Knights of the Mau Mau, which provide over the Ponderosa Stomp Foundation and its shows. Every year down in New Orleans, the party continues!
